How has your experience as Director of Market Development at Facebook influenced your career path?

One of my most monumental takeaways while I was at FB was figuring out what I wanted to do with my life. I blended my two passions to create Facebook Live—one of my proudest accomplishments. I realized that my career trajectory should be built out of what moved me most: relating to others and exchanging information. So, I thank my personal and professional experiences at Facebook for helping me launch Zuckerberg Media!

What is one piece of advice you would give to entrepreneurs in the startup world?

Failure means progress. If you have an idea, see a useful fit for it in the market, and are passionate about what you’re creating, you may have to re-imagine, re-invent, re-energize, re-think, and re-start a thousand times—but it’s not a bad thing! Failure is a pivot, a shift, that’s taking your idea in a different direction. Follow your failures and your heart and you’ll be just fine.

How many hours do you sleep?

Sleep continuously? Without being woken up by a child, a flight attendant, a leak, a noise, or my head nodding onto the person next to me? I’ll need a bedcam to answer that.

What’s on your home screen?

An adorable picture of my two sons (which you can barely make out because it’s covered by a million apps. (Thanks, Candy Crush).

Favorite movie?

Beaches! (The original.) Bette is the best!

What would you advise your 20-year-old self?

Nothing good happens after midnight. Young Randi, go home!

Consider this: you that have one hour to pack for a week-long trip. What do you reach for?

My credit cards and a lot of empty suitcase space. No time to pack = a great excuse to go shopping in a new city!

One app you can’t live without?

United Airlines. Seriously, I travel A LOT.

Are you more of a hunter or a gatherer?

Can I be a Hatherer? Or a Gunter? I’m honestly a little bit of both. I know what I want and have no problems charging after it, but I also like to surround myself with good people and experiences. So I use both skills to get the job done the best way I can.

What’s the most interesting thing about you that no one knows?

I was a champion bridge player when I was younger. You hear that, Bill Gates and Warren Buffett? I’m ready when you are!

Do you have a life motto? If so, what is it?

“Work, sleep, family, fitness, friends—pick three.” By focusing on a different three each day, we can shed the unattainable stress of being well-balanced and grow into our better suited well-lopsidedness. I call it the ‘Entrepreneur’s Dilemma’ because living is a startup and we’re all running our own life.

What’s your spirit animal?

A Pegasus! According to mythical legend, everywhere a Pegasus struck her hoof to the earth, “an inspiring spring burst forth.” I’d like to think I do the same. Plus, wings!

What inspires you to stay motivated?

Whenever I see the look on a little girl’s face as she’s experiencing a new technology for the first time. You can almost hear the gears of wonder and imagination turning. That keeps my own gears churning for how I can create more of those moments, hopefully inspiring a new generation of young #AOBossBabes to come!

What does being a #aobossbabe mean to you?

It means I’m a forward-thinking female who gets the job done differently! It’s an honor to be amongst the #aobossbabe team!

What does #goals mean to you both personally, and professionally?

A combination of pie-in-the-sky-aspirational + actually-attainable pursuits that push me to accomplish things that will enable me to look back on life and say that I am my own hero—or should I say, SHERO!
