AAPI HERITAGE MONTH

AAPI (Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders) Heritage Month

May is Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month – a celebration of the stories, contributions and experiences of Asian American and Pacific Islanders in the United States. Now more than ever, we come together to celebrate the rich history and current experiences of a community who has enriched America’s history and are instrumental in its future success.

#STOPASIANHATE

Did you know: The U.S. Census Bureau defines Asian as "a person having origins in any of the original people of the Far East, Southeast Asia or the Indian subcontinent including Indonesia, Cambodia, China, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippine Islands, Thailand and Vietnam." The U.S. Census Bureau defines Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander as "a person having origins in any of the original people of Hawaii, Guam, Samoa or other Pacific Islands." (U.S. Census, April 2021)

While we pause to celebrate this month, we cannot be silent regarding the surge of violence toward the Asian American and Pacific Islander community. To honor the community and demonstrate solidarity in denouncing hate, on May 1st, 10% of proceeds from both ecommerce and retail sales will be donated to the AAPI Fund to support their mission to uplift and protect AAPI communities.
